Course Overview

This course will help you understand and unpack what Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) might mean for you and your organization. It will help you recognise your baseline position and explore practical steps that you can take to build and integrate effective EDI strategy, plan and initiatives.

The course will offer you the opportunity to reflect on your own EDI baseline and consider how you might develop and implement a plan that is fit for the future. Throughout the course, there will be a clear focus on practical actions that you can take away to create impact immediately.

What it means to have a diverse workforce
Definitions and language

Session 2 – Data as a Baseline  

Gaining leverage through data – what’s your starting point and where are the gaps?
Assessing qualitative and quantitative data to secure an understanding of your current position
What are your key challenges or focus areas and how do you prioritize?

Session 3 – The Drivers for Change

Defining your EDI vision and setting goals
Exploring how both process and behaviour can be a catalyst for change
Developing the building blocks to a successful EDI programme
Effective engagement: bringing others on the journey
 
Session 4 – Building for the Future

Taking a look at what’s coming down the track
Metrics – how do you hold yourself and others to account?
Sharing results and celebrating successes

- An appreciation of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is and what it might mean to you and your organization
- An understanding of the EDI backdrop, key terminology and definitions
- A recognition of where you are currently on your EDI journey, and envisaging where you would like to get to
- An awareness of how data can help you to build your story
- An understanding of how both process and behaviour play their part in driving change
- The identification of some principal metrics to help you to recognize the impact of change
- Steps you might take to build – or enhance - an EDI strategy

We know everybody learns in different ways and holds different commitments and time pressures, so we have developed the same fantastic content which is available to access in two ways depending on your own preferences.

1-day Online Workshop
This is a full day, interactive live workshop. Regular breakout rooms will be used to encourage participants to discuss the learning, share their own experiences and complete exercises.

4 Online Modules with a Half-Day Online Workshop
The course is broken down into 4 recorded modules which you can access online and watch at your own convenience. We will then run a half-day online workshop which will give you the opportunity to join facilitated discussion and exercises relating to the material that you have viewed.
