Working with your Sponsor

Executive Sponsors for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Networks come with a rage of experience, confidence and ideas.

Use the videos below to think about how you might react in each situation. Remember, your Executive Sponsor is there to work with the ERG Committee and Leads, so think about what they can do to help you - and vice-versa.

We have also given you some simple options below you might have to respond to each scenario. See which you think might work for each Sponsor.

Yes, we agree we don't want to overwhelm anyone in the organization, but we do have some clear ideas on how we want to change things and align with our EDI goals, so would like expand past soley awareness-raising / educational activities

We know your time is really limited, but we were hoping you would be able to provide some insight on how we might supoort our community in your own team as well - we have some ideas on the challenges they face that you might not be aware of

Would you be open to thinking about what behaviours of your own you might look to work on - perhaps language or terms that might re-enforce negative perceptions of our community?
